8 1/2 OTTO e MEZZO @ Alexandra House,Central,HONG KONG - 1st Spring Lunch Tastings On April 30 2011

Just the thought of my enjoyable lunch i had at the above - 8 1/2 OTTO e MEZZO  a few Saturdays ago is really a wonderful feeling ! Because of my earlier attempt after my arrival in HK on wednesday afternoon to make reservations for my Birthday Lunch with my good buddy - HIEN ( it was fully booked ! ;-( ) so that of course made me more determined to try my luck one more time before i depart HK later in the evening !

So I quickly arranged my early check in my luggages at my No.1 Fav Airline - SIA Counter @ In Town Check In @ IFC,i always enjoy walking past my Fav Designer - ARMANI & then D&G to the above ( which another Fav COVA Centro is just outside ! Just love this location very much ! ) And since it was Saturday there's definitely a good chance so I requested for a table for lunch.
And i was in a really happy mood already when the smiling receptionist welcome me & she didn't even have to look at her reservation list at all & showed me a nice cosy & comfortable table ! Finally "a belated birthday treat to myself !" ;-)

It was early Spring afternoon & there was only a Japanese "foodie" couple ( snapping pictures of every dish just liked me later ! ) seated near their full length window with a partial simple view of St.George's Building & myself at the main dining area ( posh modern Italian lifestyle & art decor ! ) And then a friendly & experienced Manager - Tony Wong introduced to me their LUNCH 8 1/2 ( this was a 2 Course Lunch - HK$350 / Had thoughts of ordering their Daily Red - HK$80 but decided to order their Desserts HK$70 instead ! )  & also all their Signature Dishes - Lobster & Mozzarella Salad in Caviar Dressing,Belon Oyster in Bellini,Barley Risotti on their Ala Carte Menu.
Since it was my 1st time,he suggested that i try out their Set Menu with Season Promotion for White Asparagus ! And later i should consider ordering their Signature Desserts ! Excellent Idea !!! ;-)


- Enjoyed their Freshly Baked Bread very much !!!  ( Especially "wiped clean my plate" with Pork Sauce from my Pasta later !!! ) ;-)



- WARM WHITE ASPARAGUS - Egg And Orange Cream,Citrus Dressing
( 1st Time - Enjoyed This ! The Taste Was Really Special ! ;-) )



- HOMEMADE FETTUCCINE - "Mangalista" Pork and Fennel Ragout
( Enjoyed This ! But Their Manager Tony agreed with me that "there was a bit too much sauce !" It was not a problem because i still enjoyed the taste ! ;-) )



- their Signature Desserts - OTTO E MEZZO'S CLASSICS - COFFEE TRIO - Tiramisu,Warm Coffee Tart And Crunchy Ice Cream ( Many thanks to Tony for his excellent recommendation,i enjoyed the above very much because their TIRAMISU ( My No.1 Fav ! ) was extra special with Coffee Jelly at the bottom ! The sweetness was totally my taste ! ;-)

Since i am a "big time Dessert lover" I checked with Tony,what will be No.2 & he also recommended earlier &  it was :



- CRISPY PEAR TART - Served With Vanilla Ice Cream
( Since I Enjoy & Love Pear very much - so do you think i can depart HK without ordering & enjoying this for my 2nd Dessert ???.... Of course I thought a bit about this & i told myself i will treat myself with this for my Afternnon Tea - after walking around Landmark & HMV nearby ! ;-) )

And i enjoyed the meal even more because i had "special VIP attention" and a nice chat with Tony,who share some "insights on the F&B scene in HK ! & And Best of all - I had the pleasure of meeting their famous CHEF & OWNER - UMBERTO BOMBANA



- Former Executive Chef @ TOSCANA - The RITZ CARLTON & also known as the KING of White Truffles

This was definitely a truly enjoyable & memorable lunch and i would highly recommend the above for their Fine Italian Cuisine especially since this is Chef Bombana's personal project ! Also for their excellent service ! And the above already added to my "Must Re-Visit" List !
