"JOEL ROBUCHON Fine Dining @ Resorts World Sentosa" - 1st Dinner Tastings & Introduction With The Great Chef - May 1st 2011- ( CLOSED )

Just returned from my enjoyable trip in Hong Kong ( See postings of Fav Eats there !!! ) And many thanks to my good friend SL ( Boss of OAK's ) for sharing his recent visit to the opening of the above.I immediately suggested to my "Joel Robuchon Macau Regulars" - both my good friends P.C and KK that we should check out the above ! And PC immediately decided & contacted KK to arrange for a dinner party there !And of course best of all - they were so nice because they also invited me to join them too.Since i have never ever been to any of Joel Robuchon eats before ! And since they are "regulars" they were keen to check the above latest opening and of course do tastings & check out their service for comparisons !

Our timing was excellent because we were informed by RWS that the world famous celebrity Michillen Starred Chef Joel Robuchon ( and several of his "top ranked" chefs who were here for the opening of the above ) will be departing to their next JR overseas the next day.So fortunately it will be really special that i can meet the Chef of the Century in person !!! ;-) And again thanks my lucky stars - the timing was really great because when we arrived,first we were greeted his pretty reception staffs and the great Chef was there to welcome us too !!! So of course i took the good opportunity for a quick introduction - we shook hands & i even managed to chat a bit with him in simple French ! And also later he came over our table and both of even had a photo taken together ! Truly memorable dinner for me !!! ( especially since it was my 1st Dinner there !!! ;-)

Many thanks to my good friend KK ( with his close contacts at RWS ) - Their Decor was impressive - they have arranged a "special private area and long table" away from their Classy Main Dining area with their Chandelier & Glassed Wine Cellar ( and above our table there was a glass ceiling that you can see the night sky and the wall with green plant garden look" !And of course "VIP treatment" all the way !" Liked their their Classy Decor ( a"t JR Fine Dining ) but i'm already looking forward to my next visit to their Casual Dining - L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon ( it was packed last evening ) especially with their trademark Red & Black Decor & the Rosewood Counter ( with many Foodies liked me snapping photos of every serving ) around their Open Kitchen designed by famous French Interior Designer - Pierre-Yves Rochon ( who also designed the 1st L'Atelier in Paris ) !

And of course my good friends have been always telling me about their "enjoyable truffle dinners at JR Macau" and how tasty their Bread Selection was - Since i luv Bread i was really looking forward to taste the different all the different types & shapes but later i realised that i much prefer the soft breads more & also i always prefer if it was served just baked  & warm ! But maybe the above just opened,the service coodination was still not there yet,the bread were cold and their special salted butter was served slightly later ! ) -


And since i didn't get a chance to have a look at their Wine List so many thanks to my good friend PC for his excellent taste of Fine Wines,he have selected one of his Favs which we all enjoyed very much -



My thoughts was "it was the best belated birthday celebrations" because for the longest time ( since my earlier posting on the above ) i have been looking forward to the above opening here ! And of course after hearing so much & not being able to join my good friends to JR Macau - i was really happy that i can finally taste several of their "special signature classic French cuisine" !!! ;-)

Le Caviar
( Caviar in a coral infusion,served as a surprise )
- Enjoyed The Taste Of This Very Much ! ;-)


Le Tomate
( Salad of Tomato,basil infused Olive Oil,Tomato Gelee Topped With Mozzarella )
- The Presentation was both Creative & Interesting ! Suggested to Start With the Tomato First,The Salad !
Since it was my 1st time,it tasted special ! ;-)



Les Petits Pois
( Light Green Pea Veloute,refreshed With Peppermint On A Sweet Onion Cloud )
- Enjoyed This ( But Request Without The Peppermint & Happy That It Could Be Arranged ! )



La Noix de Saint-Jacques
( Pan-Fried Scallop,Invigorated By Kumquat Seasoning )
- Enjoyed Tasting This Especially Because I Luv Scallop !

Le Black Cod
( Black Cod With Yuzu Radish Velvet Puree )
- Enjoyed Tasting Both The Black Cod & The Puree !

Le Boeuf
( Beef Ribeye,Wasabi Spinach With A Medley Of Bell Peppers )
- Enjoyed This Very Much ! Excellent !!!

Their House Famous Signature - Pommes Puree - Potatoes with lots of Butter & Milk
( Tasted Really Rich !!! ;-) )

Le Mango-Mango
( Smoothness Mango And Exotic Fruit )
- Tasted So Delicious !!! Luv Tis Very Much !!!

Le Mikado
( Orizaba Chocolate,Flower Of Salt Crumble,Coffee Dome )
- Enjoyed This Very Much !!!



And there was also a Desserts Trolley ( but we were told it was not movable liked Macau ) and if my good friends were not leaving soon to MBS ( Marina Bay Sands ) i would have another serving ! ;-))


Finally especially for my first Happy Enjoyable Dinner experience at the above,i took the good opportunity of the perfect timing and requested for an "autographed" Book by the Chef of the Century - Joel Robuchon.




Here are my "personal thoughts" of the above :

- The above Dinner Menu featured several of the Special JR Signature Creations and so it was great that i finally got to taste it ! ( i was told later that there was another more expensive & elaborate Dinner Menu - which probably need a longer time to enjoy ! ;-) )
- Since the above is newly opened - there's still work or efforts needed to "fine tune" especially for both their International & Asian staffs ( i understand that several of them are "recruited" from other RWS restuarants liked Palio & others so they need time to adapt ! ) So personally i felt the service was still not really "Three Michelin Star" service yet ( as quoted in a press conference last year,that the service was be the same as their JR Tokyo ! )
