OSO Ristorante @ 46 Bukit Pasoh Road,Singapore - Finally Visited Lunch On 5/5/11

After my Enjoyable Lunch @ 8 1/2  Otto E Mezzo,Hong Kong, guessed i still had Italian Eats on my mind ! ;-) Plus with a review recently my good buddy - LF and his Foodie group was at the above & he shared that they enjoyed a wonderful lunch so much that they even stayed on to enjoy their Cigars till evening ! ;-)

Since OSO moved from their shophouse @ Tanjong Pagar ( currently Capricci is there ) a few years ago to Bukit Pasoh, both my regular Lunch Partner - KIE and myself have not been there to their "new location" yet ! So i suggested that we check it out for lunch ! ;-)

Address : 46 Bukit Pasoh Road
Contact : +65 6327 8378

And from their website : http://www.oso.sg/ - map,i decided to "catch a ride from the Orchard to Outram MRT Station to check the time needed !" And it was a short humid afternoon walk to their Old Shophouse ( used to be Capital Restaurant - famous for Hairy Crab that have moved nearby ! )

At the entrance on the 1/F it was their Reception and Bar ( the place was buzzing with few were having their afternoon drinks ! ) & i walked up their narrow stairs & their receptionist shown me to slightly dimmed lighting table ( didn't feel comfortable at all ! ) on their smallish Dining area on 2/F & I noticed that there was few ( & including the glassed VIP table ) tables taken up already ! ( Personally i thought the place looked worn out & may need some upgrading ! ;-) )

Waved at their "sharply dressed as always !" - GM - STEPHANE COLLERONI - whom i have not seen for years ( ex-Bice then ex-Senso ) and chat & update a bit ( Of course i immediately requested for a change of a table with better lighting ! ;-) ) And he also updated & informed me that their group have expanded & just opened another Italian Eats @ Goodwood Hotel called GAIA & welcome me to check it out ( but prefer that i plan it a month later till it's fine tuned ! That's good advice indeed ! )

And next i met their Chef de Cuisine - DIEGO CHIARINI whom i met too Ex-Senso few years ago ( also read his impressive Profile on the website ! ) and it was nice to watch him busy at work with the Cold Cuts and personally serving ! And happy that we can have a picture together after our lunch ! He even personally thanked and even open my car door for me & waved us goodbye ! Truly personal touch !!! ;-)

After such a long time since my last visit, i have really "lost touch of the above Signature Eats & there have not been any recent foodie reviews" we decided to just order their current LUNCH Da OSO @ $32.00 - all prices are subject to 10% service charge & the prevailing taxes  ( which Stephane shared his personal recommendations ! ) While waiting for our Starters, they served their home made Breads ( personally i always prefer Italian Eats with High Quality Breads especially if their Chef personally bakes it ! ) -

- OSO Home made Bread Ratings : 7/10 - Only two types available ( So far personally - my Current No.1 Fav Bread Selection & Taste : 9/10 - is IL CIELO,HILTON.The taste is still on my mind !!! ;-) )

And my Starter - "Thinly Sliced Cured Beef Tenderloin Served With Mixed Salad In Balsamico Sabayon" ( which was highly recommended by Stephane & only ordered this because KIE prefer the other Starter ! Tasted nice ! ) -

- Always healthy to start with some Salad especially in Balsomico Sabayon ! ;-)

And here's KIE's & my Preferred Starter - "Sliced Sea Bass Served Warm With Marinated Tomato,Orange & Campari Liquor" ( Slight Hint of the Fish ! ) :

And there was also another Starter ( On the House ) - "Vegetarian Thick Brown Onion Soup & Baked Parmigiano Cheese Powder" :

- Enjoyed the Taste ! :-)

And for the MAIN Course, here was KIE's and my preferred choice - "Vegetarian Homemade Pappardelle Pasta With Mixed Mushrooms In Truffle Flavor" :

- According to KIE - Taste was a bit too Salty for Asian taste ! ;-)

But my Main Course - "Pan Fried Salmon Unilateral Style Served With Black Olives & Dry Oregano" :

- And the sauce too was too Salty for my taste or liking ! And i recalled this taste & my feedback when i first visited the newly opened OSO years ago & this was acknowledged before ! But guessed there must be others that enjoyed it this style because it was almost packed every table !!!  ;-) ( which i was offered a replacement but i thought it may take too long so i preferred it be replaced by the Vegetarian Onion Soup instead ! )

Finally it was Italian Sweets & here was KIE's choice - "Flourless 70% Dark Chocolate Frozen Parfait With Pink Pepper Caramel" :

And since KIE have selected the above,my choice was "Oven Baked Whole Granny-Smith Apple With Honey,Almond & Clove Sauce" :

- Enjoyed The Taste especially with my Caffe Latte ! ;-)
